Volunteers caring for the Wildflower Walkway at Chippewa Nature Center 2025

Deb Temperly (l) and Susan Erhardt (r) along with Jeanne Henderson trimmed dead plant stems from the WW on April 29. The Wild Geranium is getting ready to bloom and the Golden Ragwort looks healthy! We left the stems at 12-18 inches high for the native bees.

Deb Temperly holds a Common buckthorn she pulled out – about 5 feet tall with 3 feet of fibrous roots! Also blooming now in July is the red Cardinal Flowers, purple Swamp Milkweed, and goldenrod.
